2. Sea slugs initially start life as larvae with a shell but break free from it as they develop into adults.

3. There are more than 3000 species of sea slugs, and they come in a variety of colors and pattern combinations!

4. Some species of sea slugs are carnivorous, while others can store photosynthetic algae inside their bodies. These sea slugs do not need to eat because the algae inside their bodies provide enough energy from the light for both the slug and the algae.
